About The Cider House 1949
The Cider House 1949 is a beautiful events venue thats sits on top of a hill above a winding road. As you drive up to the building you cruise by a three-acre pond. The building was designed by the four owners, Hopi James, Clint Stephenson, Annalisa Thompson and Cole Fishback.
The design was brought to life by Honest Builders of Fairfield. All of the lumber used in the building was locally harvested and much of it was milled on site.
Behind the venue sits the Cidery, where the four owners make hard cider that they distribute throughout Iowa and Illinois. The brand is called “Fishback & Stephenson.” It is handcrafted from start to finish.
All of the ciders are on tap at the taproom/event center along with many Iowa Craft beers. They also serve wine, domestic beer, locally-made kombucha and an assortment of non alcoholic beverages.
The venue has hosts weddings, graduation parties, reunions and corporate events .
